Class 0106
Code 0106 applies to specialist contractors who use hand tools or mechanical equipment to prune, spray, repair, trim, or fumigate trees. Code 0106 is applied to risks that perform one or more of the aforementioned activities. These operations may be performed from ground level or by climbing the tree, or may require the use of ladders and/or aerial buckets.
The removal, chipping, cleanup, and haul away of tree limbs and debris are also assigned to Code 0106.
Repair operations may involve cutting large, uprooted trees into manageable pieces for removal and/or pulling trees upright. Code 0106 additionally includes incidental tree removal of one or a few trees on developed sites conducted in connection with the described operations.
Code 0106 applies to specialist contractors engaged in outdoor spraying for mosquito or other insect control from trucks or other types of mobile equipment. Spraying on farms or irrigation systems by specialists is classified to Code 0050. If the spraying is conducted by an irrigation works operation, it is classified to Code 0251. Refer to Code 7420 for fixed-wing aircraft or Code 7425 for helicopter aerial application of insecticides. Refer to Code 0046 for specialist contractors engaged in outdoor spraying for mosquito or other insect control in residential or commercial areas utilizing various types of backpack sprayers, exclusively.
Risks contracting exclusively to clean up tree debris with or without the use of mechanical equipment (such as bulldozers and hydroaxes) or remove lodged, felled, or standing trees in the aftermath of a natural catastrophe are assigned to Code 2702.
Class 0106
This classification assignment applies to those insureds contracting exclusively for the clearing of right-of-ways. The clearing of right-of-ways by contractors also engaged in electric light or power line construction shall be classified as Code 7538. The clearing of right-of-ways by contractors also engaged in telephone, telegraph or alarm line construction shall be classified as Code 7601.
Major governmental occupations assigned to classifications other than Code 9410—Mosquito Extermination or Control by Spraying & Drivers; Tree Department—All Employees & Drivers.
