Class 5478
Code 5478 is applicable to the installation of floor coverings commonly referred to as resilient flooring, carpet, and laminate flooring. Code 5478 is assigned to the installation of these goods to floors and other surfaces. Code 5478 applies to the installation of carpet, linoleum, vinyl, asphalt, or rubber floor tile. All other types of interior flooring are to be separately rated.
Installations of artificial turf to cover areas such as patios are additionally classified to Code 5478.
Refer to Code 0042 for artificial turf installations intended to replace natural turf in such places as parks or indoor or outdoor athletic fields.
Laminate wood flooring, such as engineered wood flooring installed using glue-down or interlocking methods, is assigned to Code 5437 when installed by specialist contractors, not Code 5478.
