Customer Services Associate

The Workers’ Compensation Rating and Inspection Bureau of Massachusetts (WCRIBMA) is seeking a Customer Services Associate to join our team.

Position Summary

The Customer Services Associate is responsible for gaining a broad understanding of the sections of the WCRIBMA that are responsible for ownership rules of the Experience Rating Plan Manual, processing assigned risk applications, and processing MA Construction Credit Premium Adjustment Program Applications. The Customer Services Associate receives and responds to correspondence and telephone inquiries from policyholders, producers and member companies regarding Workers’ Compensation issues.

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Handles ownership rulings. Directs Data Operations to make any needed changes to affected experience modifications.
  • Reviews ownership questions and/or ERMs submitted with Assigned Risk Applications, makes necessary file changes, and works with the AR Analyst to process applications appropriately.
  • Processes MA Construction Credit Premium Adjustment Program Applications. Reviews construction credit applications with respect to application criteria and deadlines and processes applications accordingly.
  • Processes electronic and hard copy applications to the Massachusetts Workers’ Compensation Assigned Risk Pool and creates Notices of Assignment and / or the appropriate Spectrum letters affecting coverage. Researches Spectrum, OAR, Laserfiche, and external websites as needed, throughout the process.
  • Respond to written and telephone inquiries from employers, carriers, agents, brokers, or other employer representatives.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Processes Classification Request Forms, maintaining excel spreadsheet to note submission information.
  • Assist in various daily administrative tasks within the Customer Services Department.
  • Works on various other projects as needed.

Position Qualifications:

  • A minimum of an Associate’s degree, in Business, Finance, or related field strongly preferred.
  • One to two years of related insurance or office experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and team-oriented skills are required.
  • The ability to interact with the public effectively in a calm, clear, and courteous manner.
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Excel and Word and others that might be required to support job functions.
