Massachusetts Workers' Compensation Rate Filing - 2023

The following is a timeline of the 2023 Rate Filing Process with links to the underlying documents.

DECEMBER

12/23/2022 - The WCRIBMA submits a Rate Filing (Filing) to the Division of Insurance on behalf of its members recommending a 4.0% decrease in average rates for industrial classes and a 9.8% decrease for F-Classes. The WCRIBMA filed no change to expense constants. The proposed effective date of this filing is July 1, 2023.

12/23/2022 - Circular announces submission of the Rate Filing and a Pending Premium Change Endorsement (Circular Letter #2409).

JANUARY

01/13/2023 - The WCRIBMA issues a Circular with the Notice of Hearing (Circular Letter #2412).

APRIL

04/06/2023 - The Commissioner of Insurance approved the Stipulation and the WCRIBMA issues a Circular with a copy of the Commissioners' Decision and the Stipulation (Circular Letter #2413). The filing exhibits have been revised to reflect the Stipulation (Filing Exhibits Revised with Stipulation).

04/06/2023 - The WCRIBMA issues a Circular with Changes in Manual Rates by Class and Effects of July 1, 2023 Rate Change (Circular Letter #2414).

04/06/2023 - The WCRIBMA issues a Circular with Manual Rates and Rating Values effective July 1, 2023 (Circular Letter #2415).

MAY

05/12/2023 - The WCRIBMA issues a Circular with guidelines for Workers' Compensation Rate Deviation Filings (Circluar Letter #2416).
