Massachusetts Workers' Compensation Rate Filing - 2012

The following is a timeline of the 2012 Rate Filing Process with links to the underlying documents.

MARCH

03/01/2012 - The WCRIBMA submits a Rate Filing (Filing) to the Division of Insurance on behalf of its members recommending a 19.3% increase in average rates for industrial classes and a 20.0% increase for F-Classes. The WCRIBMA files no change to expense constants. The proposed effective date of this filing is September 1, 2012.

03/02/2012 - Circular announces submission of the Rate Filing (Circular Letter #2191).

03/09/2012 - The WCRIBMA issues a Circular with the Notice of Hearing and a Pending Premium Change Endorsement (Circular Letter #2192).

03/20/2012 - The Office of the Attorney General submits a notice of intent to appear and participate as a statutory intervenor (Notice).

JULY

07/19/2012 - The WCRIBMA issues a Circular with the revised Guidelines for Workers' Compensation Rate Deviation Filings (Circular Letter #2200).

AUGUST

08/30/2012 - The Commissioner of Insurance issues a Decision and Order disapproving the WCRIBMA Filing. Therefore, there will be no change in rates and rating values. The WCRIBMA issues a Circular with a copy of the Commissioner's Decision (Circular Letter #2202).

SEPTEMBER

09/04/2012 - The WCRIBMA issues a Circular with further Guidelines for Workers' Compensation Rate Deviation Filings (Circular Letter #2203).
